Tutorial:
Tools
needed:
-
Photoshop (or something like it)
-
A wad editor. I recommend Wally. Get it here <http://www.telefragged.com/wally/>
-(NOTE)
Each picture below, applies to every step above it. (IE: First
pic applies to Step 1 & 2)
Steps...
1.
Okay, open up Photoshop and go to File->New.
Make
the width and height some variable of 16.
I
usually do width: 128 pixels and then height: 64 pixels. Make
sure that the boxes to the right are at pixels and not inches.
2.
Now do whatever you want. After you are done go to
File->Save
a copy. Change the bottom most scroll box to BMP
and
save it with any name anywhere on your hard drive.
3. Now open up
Wally. Go to File->New. Change the type to Half-Life Package
[wad3] (.wad).
Click
okay. Go to Package->Add Images. Change the topmost line to
the path to where you saved the BMP. Change the image wildcards
to either the name of what you saved it or *.bmp to add more
than one bmp (not necessary in this tutorial). For mine on the
right, I named it asdf.bmp. Click Go. Give it a second. You
should get a little box that said everything went okay.
Click
Okay. Click Close.
4.
Now you should see it in your new
wad file.
Double
click on the filename which appears under Image List.
You
should now see a big version of what you created.
5.
VERY IMPORTANT STEP: go to
Colors->Edit Palette.
On
the right of the box, type in 255, 0, 0, 255 respectivly (image
on right).
Click
okay.
6.
This next step is if you see blue
dots on your image now.
If
you don't, skip this step. Hit Colors->Translate Colors.
Make
it like the box to the right. Blue should be 255. Index, 254.
Hit Okay.
7.
Now close the bigger version of your image.
It
should ask if you want to save and click yes.
Now
go to File->Save As. Save it to your half-life\cstrike
directory as pldecal.wad.
8.
Enter a game immediatly. Do not go to any settings.
Now
spray. If you dont see it, wait until you can spray again and
spray again.
If
you still can't see it, you did something wrong :)
